Critic- Geoff Andrew
Critics likes: (Ravind V)Shows a person how to survive on a stranded island . Reader says that the movie was good but not perfect. The movie betrayed any important things to value in life which the critic appreciated. Cast away showed hard work doing what you love as well as leadership at the begging of the movie when Tom Hanks was leading his crew with full of responsibility.
Critics dis-likes: The graphic were said to be un real like
Movie Critique
Castaway, a very well produced film with great techniques using the camera, a very intriguing theme and symbolism. The film was directed by Robert Zemeckis in 2000. Zemeckis uses disillusionment very well when Chuck Noland (Main Character) hops on to a FedEx airplane and ends up making a crashing landing into the ocean. Chuck also goes through characteristics of a Hemingway Heroism throughout the film. As he is away for four years he returns to find his girlfriend/lover is married with a family. Another theme shown in this film is empty abundance, after chuck is stranded on a deserted island about 10 FedEx boxes that he has absolutley no use for. The Wilson volleyball symbolizes how desperate he was to seek a companion while hes stranded. A very detrimental part of the movie is on Chuck voyage to find land with wilson, Wilson starts to float away. This sends chuck into complete panic mode because now he is entirely alone. His motif is to find away to survive and hopefully along the way return home. Critic Geoff Andrew said "hard work doing what you love as well as leadership at the beginning of the movie when tom hanks was leading his crew with full responsibility" i agree with this statement however Cast Away has to deal with alot of other aspects of life. I also disagree with the graphics being "unreal like", in my opinion the graphics were great the camera angles made me feel like i was actually in the movie.
